District Tech shortlisted at the Property Awards 2020

District Tech has been shortlisted for Proptech Innovator of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year at the prestigious Property Awards by Property Week.

The Proptech Innovator of the Year award celebrates ‘companies that are proactively using technology to disrupt the property sector’. ‘Innovation’ was the key criterion for this award, and entrants had to give evidence of a transformative impact the business has had on the property industry.

District launched its open API and smart building tech marketplace At MIPIM in May 2019. This has driven collaboration and openness in a previously fragmented and insular space. District’s success and product growth have been reflected in this success and have doubled its client base in 2019.

Pete Hallet CTO at District Tech said: “I believe the technology innovation of opening up our API’s and smart building marketplace has driven further collaboration in the industry. Our one platform approach that connects entire portfolios has made it significantly easier for clients. I believe making it simplistic for clients to slot the District platform into their existing technology landscape is necessary for providing seamless building experiences. It’s also key to increasing long-term asset value for clients and the real estate industry.”

For the Entrepreneur of the Year award, applicants had to demonstrate ‘significant business or financial flair, vision or innovation’. For this award, the team at District Technologies nominated their CEO, Vanessa Butz.

Securing press in VTSBuilding our FutureProperty WeekForbes and more. District Technologies achievements, and the many key global property clients that have been won showcases the transformative impact on the industry District has already had in its short tenure. It’s testament to the passion that our CEO has in driving innovation in this industry.”

Vannesa Butz CEO of District Tech said: “What I am most passionate about is how we can shape the future of cities to improve everyone’s work and life experience. In a world where everything is more digitally connected than ever before, I believe there is no better time to develop this market for the benefit of all people. I am delighted that District Tech has been recognised for our innovation and entrepreneurship by being shortlisted for these two fantastic awards. ”

Other companies shortlisted for awards include two of District’s clients, Chiswick Park Enjoy-Work for the Social Impact award and Blackstone for the Financier/Lender of the Year award.

The Property Awards will take place on 21st April at Grosvenor House in London.
