District Tech shortlisted for the EG Tech Awards 2020

District Tech has been shortlisted for not one, but two awards at the EG Tech Awards 2020. The two awards are The Bridging The Gap Award and The Productivity Award.

The Productivity Award celebrates “An award for the best use of technology to improve productivity in buildings”. To be in for a chance, entries had to include demonstrable, tangible benefits of improved productivity within buildings.

District is a user experience focused community and smart building platform. District helps clients move from being rent collectors to relationship builders and facilitate a fundamental shift in the way that the real estate industry perceives customers and tenants across commercial assets and large residential and PRS portfolios.

At MIPIM in May 2019, District launched its open API and smart building tech marketplace which is driving collaboration and openness in a previously fragmented space. The core District product enables landlords and companies to run their offices and residential buildings in a modern way on par with consumer expectations. This allows users to book what they need when they need it; from a desk to their guests’ visitor passes. For most clients that are interested in providing a seamless user experience across their offices, or for their tenants, rising trends in ‘tenant experience’ and ‘workplaces of the future’ demand a significant level of integrations due to the varying demands. District has innovated on this client demand by making it seamless to integrate with third-party suppliers or hardware through District’s published open API’s. This has allowed District to collaborate with dozens of proptech and smart building technology partners.

For The Bridging The Gap Award the team at District Technologies nominated their CEO, Vanessa Butz. Applicants had to demonstrate a proven track record of bringing together the worlds of real estate and tech.

EG Tech Awards Finalist

Vanessa studied Engineering, Economics and Management at Oxford University, and wrote her thesis on “Understanding the DNA of Strong Entrepreneurial Hubs”. She has extensive experience in starting and scaling co-working spaces, where she helped build large technology and coworking campuses (Factory Berlin and Interchange Camden, Market-Tech). She went on to found District, continuing to make a significant contribution to the awareness and adoption of technology in commercial real estate.

In a world where everything is more digitally connected than ever before, I believe there is no better time to develop this market for the benefit of all people. I am delighted that District Tech has been recognised for expanding the awareness and adoption of technology and for our impact on the productivity of buildings by being shortlisted for these two fantastic awards.”

Clients of District now include Cushman and Wakefield, LaSalle, JP Morgan Assets, Merlin Properties, Investec and many others.
