District Dashboard moves to beta

The District Dashboard is the place where our clients spend their time curating wonderful personalised content for their users, gaining insight on the behaviours of how to run their portfolios more efficiently, communicating with their growing communities and keeping a close eye on the motivation of their services.

For the last 18 months, one of our biggest focuses has been the app users here at District and delivering our award-winning app to them. But, to make the ‘behind-the-scenes’ more streamline we decided to spend the last sprint focusing on the District Dashboard to make it simpler and easier for admin users to add/edit and upload fresh new content. 

At the end of 2019, we built a team to purely focus on the user journeys of the administrative users. We also adopted some new(er) technologies along the way. Fast forward to January this year and we rolled out the alpha product. There was a long way to go, but already there was a fresh easy to use interface built around Google design patterns that are so familiar to so many users in 2020.

The new dashboard has two routes to measure success. First and foremost we want the administrators of our platform to enjoy using the dashboard and to get from it what they need to make their day job easier and administratively faster, allowing them to concentrate on the people and process activities of their job and not have to worry about the tech product that everyone “has” to use. The second measure, with our new approach, is to reduce the amount of time it takes to build new or iterate existing features and outcomes.

The dashboard is broken down into components and built around a very detailed user interface kit reducing the time developers have to put into constructing interfaces and allowing them to spend more time focusing on solving the difficult problems that the real estate world throws at them. Particularly at this time, as the world has gone through a global pandemic, our developers have been working on a set of new Covid-secure features to help landlords and occupiers welcome their community back to their spaces safely. 

We’ve also spent a considerable amount of time this year building out the District Analytics Dashboard, allowing our clients to gain an even deeper understanding of their users through detailed user analytics, a functionality overview to understand the most popular features of the app and a breakdown of engagement with each functionality to further delve into the engagement such as specific events or articles.

We quietly rolled the new dashboard out through POC and alpha for the first part of this year to a few existing and new District clients, gaining feedback and iterating on the approach as we went. Today, we have transitioned the dashboard to beta meaning it will be available to all administrative users of our platform who will also be invited to feedback to help us iterate further the design and usability to solidify our place in this market. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
